The Social Network

-- Fincher's Facebook flick gets Timberlake and Eisenberg In what is shaping up to be a who's-who of really-hot-right-now male acting talent, Fincher's The Social Network has added two more talented dudes to its cast. Recent Emmy winner Justin Timberlake has signed on to play Napster guy Sean Parker, Jesse Eisenberg will take on Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and Andrew Garfield (fresh from The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus) will join as co-founder Eduardo Saverin. Based on Ben Mezrich’s book "The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook, a Tale of Sex, Money, Genius and Betrayal", with a screenplay written by the uber-talented Aaron Sorkin, this one looks to have the deck stacked in its favour.

-- Carell, Rudd comedy gets female lead Guess who's coming to dinner? Actress Stephanie Szostak is joining funnymen Steve Carell, Paul Rudd and Zach Galifianakis as Rudd's girlfriend in Dinner for Schmucks, a new comedy by Jay Roach (Meet the Parents, Austin Powers). According to the Hollywood Reporter, Rudd stars as a man who hosts a weekly dinner party in the hopes of finding the most feeble, pathetic guest possible and Carell ends up filling that role - and then some. It sounds a little dark to be sure, but with these comedy pros involved, the results will likely be all kinds of funny. The film, which marks Szostak's biggest role to date, is set for a July 2010 release.

--The Rock, Jackson and Coogan are 'The Other Guys' Frequent Will Ferrell co-conspirator and all around funny dude Adam McKay will have his hands full when he helms the comedy The Other Guys starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Samuel L. Jackson as super cops and British funnyman Steve Coogan as, you guessed it, the villain. The trio join already-confirmed stars Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg who play underachieving cops, envious of the exploits of their fellow officers, reports Variety. The Other Guys represents a shift from Jackson's typically serious roles and a marked departure from lighter children's fare for the former wrestler. The film will be penned by McKay and Chris Henchy, whose previous writing credits include Land of the Lost and episodes of "Entourage".
