What's your favourite horror film?

With the release of Drag Me to Hell, the new back-to-basics horror flick from scary movie guru Sam Raimi (Evil Dead, Spiderman), the chat around the Cineplex water cooler has turned into a major discussion about our favourite horror flicks and man are people opinionated (and I’m not just talking about me!). From creepy possessed kiddies, to gory zombie brain-fests, to the "don' t go in there!" awesomeness of the slasher flick, my favourite horror films run the gamut from preposterous to downright terrifying. The good ones curdle my blood and make me leave the light on at night (true story); the bad ones make me laugh until I can’t breathe. It's not surprising though, given the often spine-tingling content, that the genre doesn't appeal to everyone but many of us just can't get enough.

So while the debate here rages on, I want to know what tops your scary movie list! Are you an old-school thriller fan or a die-hard (pun intended) fan of the gore?
