-- Car crash on set of Nicolas Cage film. A car chase stunt went awry on the Times Square set of Nicolas Cage's latest picture, The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, when a driver lost control and crashed into popular pizza restaurant Sbarro, injuring two. The mishap occurred in the early hours of the morning when a stunt driver lost control of a Ferrari travelling up Seventh Avenue. Although the restaurant was closed at the time, the streets were filled with people craning to get a look at the film shoot and some got so close they almost became a part of the action. The New York Post spoke with British tourist and witness Mark Watkins: “"The Ferrarri took a sharp right to the left and lost it, swerving across the lanes, taking out a lamppost and a newsstand. One lady was knocked to the ground and a lamppost landed directly on top of a chap." The lady in question was a curious bystander but it’s reported that the man struck by the lamppost may have been involved with the film. Both were taken to the hospital, treated and subsequently released with non-life threatening injuries. The film, a live-action update/re-imagining of the Disney classic, is directed by Jon Turtletaub and has Cage cast as the wizard who leaves his workshop in the hands of an inept college student. The film is set to hit theatres during the summer of 2010.

The couple walked down the aisle and exchanged vows in front of three dozen guests in a small chapel in the village of Brindisi. Those in attendance included the bride’s brother, actor Jake Gyllenhaal, and his current girlfriend, actress Reese Witherspoon. The couple started dating in 2002, became engaged in 2006 and became parents to daughter Ramona in October of that same year. The union is the first for both actors.
