New Moon

-- First New Moon poster…with Edward! So you've already sunk your claws into the buff Wolf Pack who will star in the Twilight sequel but now it's time to REALLY squeal. Behold the first poster for The Twilight Saga: New Moon - and guess who's front and centre? The moody poster art shows our fave bloodsucker (Robert Pattinson) casting a backwards glance at what's going on between significantly buffed-up Jacob (Taylor Lautner) and his mortal lady love Bella (Kristen Stewart). Fleshing out (no pun intended) the love triangle that was hinted at in the first film, New Moon finds a broken-hearted Bella confiding in Jacob when Edward leaves after deciding he can no longer bare to put her in danger. Although the book reportedly has a lot less Edward, director Chris Weitz smartly upped the dreamboat factor and will allow Pattinson more screen time through less literal means (i.e. dream sequences and the like). Feast on this poster until the real thing hits theatres in November.

-- Spielberg to produce MLK biopic The life story of iconic civil rights' leader Martin Luther King Jr. is finally getting the big screen treatment as Dreamworks has recently acquired the rights to tell his story. Assassinated in 1968 at the age of 39, King copyrighted his speeches, books and works prior to his death and his estate had not granted use of his intellectual property - until now. Steven Spielberg , Suzanne de Passe and Madison Jones will be producing the first ever film to have authorized use of King's works, including his famous " I have a dream" speech. "We are all honored that the King Estate is giving us the opportunity to tell the story of these defining, historic events," Variety quoted Spielberg as saying. "It is our hope that the creative power of film and the impact of Dr. King's life can combine to present a story of undeniable power that we can all be proud of."

-- As if we have to tell you, Clooney is a gentleman The dashing thesp has signed on to star in A Very Private Gentleman for director Anton Corbijn, who painted a starkly honest portrait of Joy Division singer Ian Curtis in his 2007 feature film debut Control . Based on Martin Booth's novel of the same name, George Clooney will play an assassin named Clark who moves to Southern Italy and poses as an artist who paints butterfly miniatures - standard stuff, right? He settles into the rural village and even develops friendships with some locals, including a prostitute and a priest, obvs. Just as he's about to get comfortable with his new found life on the straight-and-narrow, he gets the feeling that someone has tracked him down and things get, well, complicated. The screenplay will be written byRowan Joffe (28 Weeks Later) and filming is set to begin shooting this fall in Italy.
