-- Trekkies treated to surprise screening of new Star Trek film. The crowd at the Alamo Draft House in Austin, Texas thought they were there to see a screening of 1982’s Wrath of Khan, but Leonard Nimoy (that’s Mr. Spock to you) and Damon Lindelhof (producer on both Lost and Star Trek) had other plans. The men (along with screenwriters Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman) swapped out the older flick, considered the best of the Trek franchise by film buffs and Trekkies alike, with a print of the brand new J.J. Abrams’ prequel. Online entertainment blog Ain’t It Cool News reported the film's sneak peek concluded with a long standing ovation from a very impressed and emotional crowd while the Twitterverse simultaneously exploded with excitement and praise from those in attendance. If the intention was to create online buzz in advance of the film’s opening on May 8, mission accomplished.

--Jackman disappointed by Wolverine leak. It seems as if Roger Friedman isn’t the only one laid low by the internet leak of the upcoming movie X-Men Origins: Wolverine. The star (and co-producer) of the prequel to the hit comic franchise, Hugh Jackman, has broken his silence on the issue admitting to a Sydney press conference that the stolen, incomplete print that has been making its way around the web a month before the film’s official release has him "heartbroken." The film (as it appears in the download) contains no CGI effects and Jackman is saddened by the fact anyone watching it will be seeing an unfinished version, likening it to a "Ferrari without a paint job." The FBI considers the individuals behind the leak to be serious criminals and an investigation is currently underway to track them down. Better the FBI than the mutant himself!

--Zack Snyder talks 300 sequel? Although the director’s name might bring to mind his current smash-hit Watchmen, Snyder spoke to MTV at ShoWest about the possibility of a sequel to another one of his hit films, 2006’s 300. He explains that there is a 12 month gap in time not represented in the original film that could be filled in by a second epic, which would not in essence be a sequel or prequel but more an extension of the first. Snyder reveals that he’s definitely interested but the go-ahead hinges on creator Frank Miller who needs to work on creating a great idea and drawing "something cool" before anything can be adapted for the big screen.

-- The Governator is coming to a theatre near you! Rumours have been swirling since before the film went into production but actor Terry Crews has finally confirmed to MTV today that actor-turned-Governor of California Arnold Schwartzenegger makes a cameo in the upcoming Terminator: Salvation, starring Christian Bale. The shoot was so secretive though that nothing is known about how he will make an appearance. Will he simply appear as the T-800 machine in a quick homage or will he have actual interaction or dialogue with the stars of the film? I guess we’ll just have to wait until the film opens on May 21 to find out.
