-- Portman brings fans behind the scenes. Web-savvy actress Natalie Portman unveiled a new website, MakingOf.com, that she hopes will give fans a closer look at what goes into making movies. The new online community, showcased at a press conference at the Tribeca Film Festival, aims to share the film-making process and the experiences of those important figures behind the camera, including make-up artists, casting directors and cinematographers. She’s already gotten actor Jason Bateman to contribute as well as directors Michel Gondry and Marc Forster, with more big-named talent on the way. Portman, and friend and co-founder Christine Aylward, hope the site ‘encapsulates the experience of visiting a friend on a film set ‘ and even go as far as providing ‘expert advice’ to new filmmakers. A great idea and a real treat for curious cinephiles, don’t you think?

-- *X-Men Origins: Wolverine* takes over Tempe, Arizona. Last night saw this Phoenix suburb hosting the world premiere of the first of the summer blockbusters. To find out more about the festivities, who was there, and how this lucky town got chosen, check out our report.

-- Swine flu halts X-Men’s Mexican premiere. Even a mutant like Wolverine can’t win against a public health crisis. 20th Century Fox has announced the cancellation of the planned Mexican premiere of X-Men Origins: Wolverine on Wednesday at the National Auditorium in Mexico City. The film’s star Hugh Jackman was scheduled to make an appearance and several press-related events were planned but everything has been scrapped until further notice and all theatres in the city have been closed to prevent the spread of the virus.

-- More X-Men Origin stories on the way? Wolverine helmer Gavin Hood hopes so. He is keen to develop similar films around the characters of Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) and Sabretooth (Liev Schreiber). The director says, "There's the wonderful Liev who plays Victor. Ryan Reynolds too is extremely charismatic; both witty and he can combine action and humour. " What do you think? Would you line up for more X-Men movies?
