Valentine's Day contest

Thanks for all your entries and for sharing your best, and worst, Valentine's Day memories. We enjoyed them all but there can only be one winner and that honour goes to tippycanoe!

Congratulations!

Almost 9 yrs ago my hubby and i shared our 1st valentine's day together, he lived with roommates who didn't pay their part of the electricity bill, so we spent a romantic evening by candlelight listening to an enya cd via a battery operated boombox, sharing a small tub of my fav gourmet ice cream. A mortgage and a baby later, we still celebrate valentine's day with ice cream.

Love it or hate it, Valentine’s Day is around the corner and we’ve all had our share of memorable moments – some that touched our hearts or had us bolting for the door – on that annual occasion dedicated to all things love and like.

Now we want to hear about your MOST memorable Valentine’s Day!

It’s simple: log on as a mycineplex member and tell us, in 500 words or less, about a V-day story for the ages. The winning entry, to be chosen by the Cineplex.com editorial team, comes with a $100 shopping spree at the Cineplex store – and of course, bragging rights.

You can only enter once, so make it count. Don’t delay – contest ends Tuesday, February 17.

    • On our First VDay, my husband's card read "My love for you blooms eternal". That spring, as I was weeding the garden my husband came yelling from the house. He explained that on Vday he secretly planted lilly bulbs to bloom along with our love. Well, they looked like weeds to me. Our next Vday, he gave me a book called "The Beginners Guide to Gardening".

    • That very year being happily singles, 8 of us, guys and girls, we held a wonderful Valentine's dinner party at one of our houses. Now most of us found our love of our lives, but that dinner must be my most memorable Valentine's Day because at that night I learned that friends and families love can be this sweet!

    • The last time I seen the love of my life, I was at the airport, leaving Canada with my parents for a life in Europe. 35 years have passed, but we made contact with each other last Autumn, and realized that we were still in love. 2009 is the first of many Valentines Day's that we will be spending together
