Valentine's Day contest

Thanks for all your entries and for sharing your best, and worst, Valentine's Day memories. We enjoyed them all but there can only be one winner and that honour goes to tippycanoe!

Congratulations!

Almost 9 yrs ago my hubby and i shared our 1st valentine's day together, he lived with roommates who didn't pay their part of the electricity bill, so we spent a romantic evening by candlelight listening to an enya cd via a battery operated boombox, sharing a small tub of my fav gourmet ice cream. A mortgage and a baby later, we still celebrate valentine's day with ice cream.

Love it or hate it, Valentine’s Day is around the corner and we’ve all had our share of memorable moments – some that touched our hearts or had us bolting for the door – on that annual occasion dedicated to all things love and like.

Now we want to hear about your MOST memorable Valentine’s Day!

It’s simple: log on as a mycineplex member and tell us, in 500 words or less, about a V-day story for the ages. The winning entry, to be chosen by the Cineplex.com editorial team, comes with a $100 shopping spree at the Cineplex store – and of course, bragging rights.

You can only enter once, so make it count. Don’t delay – contest ends Tuesday, February 17.

    • My wife & I have 14 days of Valentine's where each day, we hide a clue to a small surprise (e.g. a book). Most memorable was a trail of Hersey Kisses & rose petals led to each room of our tiny apartment where pampering activites (e.g. Bathroom - Personal Bath) were completed. Small tokens of affection expressed in fun ways that don't break the budget. It's that simple. Have a GREAT St. V's Day:)

    • One Valentine's Day I gave my husband his present, he thanked me and said that my mine was in the car and that he was just going to go grab it and he'd be right back. Next thing I heard was the car engine turn on, I looked out the window and he was gone. An hour had passed before he came back. He made no mention of the time that lapsed, just handed me my gift and said "Happy Valentine's Day".

    • This will be my most memorable Valentine. It will be the first time in 9 years my husband and I will be apart. He is away for work and I am home with our children. It will be hard on all of us. Watching romantic movies will be too lonely for me. I will have to get family comedies to keep our spirits up.

    • My most memorable V-day was when my new husband took me to the shores of a little lake, and proceeded to shoot off fireworks...but I was so worried about the police coming that I didn't really enjoy them...

    • It would be 4 years ago when I hid an engagement ring in a box of chocolates and the look when my wife found it
