Valentine's Day contest

Thanks for all your entries and for sharing your best, and worst, Valentine's Day memories. We enjoyed them all but there can only be one winner and that honour goes to tippycanoe!

Congratulations!

Almost 9 yrs ago my hubby and i shared our 1st valentine's day together, he lived with roommates who didn't pay their part of the electricity bill, so we spent a romantic evening by candlelight listening to an enya cd via a battery operated boombox, sharing a small tub of my fav gourmet ice cream. A mortgage and a baby later, we still celebrate valentine's day with ice cream.

Love it or hate it, Valentine’s Day is around the corner and we’ve all had our share of memorable moments – some that touched our hearts or had us bolting for the door – on that annual occasion dedicated to all things love and like.

Now we want to hear about your MOST memorable Valentine’s Day!

It’s simple: log on as a mycineplex member and tell us, in 500 words or less, about a V-day story for the ages. The winning entry, to be chosen by the Cineplex.com editorial team, comes with a $100 shopping spree at the Cineplex store – and of course, bragging rights.

You can only enter once, so make it count. Don’t delay – contest ends Tuesday, February 17.

    • My wife surprised me one year saying that we were going on a trip. She had me guessing that we were going someplace far, but instead we had a “stay-cation”.

We then proceeded to explore our city like we were tourists that weekend. We checked out a couple of the highlights, went out for a romantic dinner and enjoyed the hotel to the fullest. It was an amazing weekend!

    • Twikling lights of the city magical beneath us, A wonderful man next to me recites a poem. An ex-commercial fisherman,no horizon in view, tells me that as a mighty ocean gale I approached him, buffeting him with wild passion, enveloping him in tenderness, drenching him with love! That this mariner had finally found his safe harbor in me. After 24 years of marriage, this love still continues!

    • This is the first valentines with my girlfriend (one year is a month away) and she is away all the way until the 16th on a hockey tournament. to surprise her, when she comes back there will be a rose pedal path leading her downstairs, to a candlelit dinner, with roses for her and her favourite movie playing.

    • The most memerable moment I have would have been in grade twelve and I was with my now ex boyfriend. He went out of town for work and I knew he was going to be out of town for vday, so I planned on staying home. I got home and there he was in the living room with my favorite flowers and favorite music playing all night he massaged me.

    • My most memorable Valentine's Day was when my boyfriend Brent who is now my husband was at university. We did not have much money so he went to a bakery near where we lived and picked up a few slices of dessert. He massaged my feet while I ate my chocolate treats and we watched Pretty Woman with Richard Gere.
