Vampire crush and hysteria-inducer Robert Pattinson seems to have bitten off more than he can chew. According to MTV.com, commitments to the massively popular Twilight franchise have forced the 22-year-old Brit to drop out of an independent flick.
As one of Hollywood's most sought-after young actors, Pattinson was set to star alongside Rosario Dawson, who also produces, Olivia Thirlby and Dennis Hopper in Parts per Billion, a film that follows three couples who are all forced to deal with the same catastrophic event that threatens to tear them apart.
But duty called and with Twilight's runaway success, boasting an estimated worldwide haul of (US)$262 million to date, bringing the next installment to the big screen, like, now, meant Pattinson had to walk away from the highly-anticipated indie.
Parts per Billion was scheduled to start filming in early 2009, but with New Moon's projected 2010 release, tough decisions had to be made. A rep for the young hottie told MTV.com: “Unfortunately, the prep time and production schedule on New Moon haven't left enough time for Robert to work on Parts per Billion in the first quarter of this year.”
Pattinson previously wrapped work on Little Ashes (pictured above) and How to Be, both slated for 2009 releases.
