Step Brothers

Will Ferrell has played a murderous fashion megalomaniac, pompous retro newscaster and simpleton racecar driver — not exactly the kind of career trajectory that leads to Broadway. But that's exactly where he's headed in the new year.

According to Variety, Ferrell will star in the one-man play entitled "You're Welcome America: A Final Night With George W. Bush," and although specific details weren't revealed, it seems likely that a caricatured impersonation of Bush (reminiscent of Ferrell's SNL sketches) and political humour will be on the menu.

Adam McKay, the writer-director behind Ferrell hits Step Brothers, Talladega Nights and Anchorman will produce, direct and likely collaborate on the script with Ferrell, although writing credits have not been confirmed.

McKay and Ferrell co-wrote the screenplays for their three films together and created the absurdly funny website Funnyordie.com.

Previews will begin on January 20 and the limited engagement runs until March 15.
