The acid-tongued former fashion designer whose legendary year-end lists critiqued Hollywood's penchant for bad fashion has died at the age of 86, reports Variety.

Mr. Blackwell (ne Richard Sylvan Seltzer) died Sunday of complications from an intestinal infection according to his publicist Harlan Boll.

Blackwell released his first critique of Hollywood's biggest fashion crimes in 1960 and has compiled his scathing Worst Dressed List every year for the past four decades.

Famed fashion offenders from Britney Spears to Bjork to Sharon Stone have been mercilessly scrutinized by Blackwell over the years, with the likes of Zsa Zsa Gabor among his early victims for her fashion faux-pas.

Starting out as an actor, then transitioning to fashion designer with his House of Blackwell line in the 1950s, he quickly became known for his hilarious and catty rants on the clothing missteps of Hollywood's elite, becoming “the worst bitch in the world” for a time, he’s said.

Blackwell is survived by his longtime partner Robert Spencer.
