Crispin Glover

You've come a long way, McFly.

The wonderfully wacky Crispin Glover has signed on to join Tim Burton's eagerly anticipated, and likely off-kilter, reimagining of Alice in Wonderland, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Glover, best known for his turn as a twitchy young George McFly in Back to the Future and experimental vanity projects like What Is It? not to mention almost kicking David Letterman in the face during a 1987 visit, joins Johnny Depp, Mia Wasikowska, Anne Hathaway and Helena Bonham Carter in Burton's adaptation.

Glover will be in familiar territory with Burton's use of live action and performance-capture technology as he previously worked in the medium for last year's Beowulf, playing the part of Grendel.

As the Knave of Hearts, who stands trial for swiping the Queen of Hearts' tarts and is defended by our girl Alice, Glover is sure to offer up a singular interpretation that will add another welcome dash of eccentricity to what is shaping up to be one madcap movie.
