Tautou slipping into Chanel

Cute-as-a-button Amelie star Audrey Tautou will slip into some fashionable wares when she portrays the titular famed fashion designer in Coco avant Chanel, reports Variety.

The biopic, to be directed by Anne Fontaine, will trace the revolutionary impact Chanel had on the world of fashion, beginning with the opening of her first shop in 1910. The influential designer died in 1971 at the age of 87.

Everyone's favourite fan-wielding, high-collared fashionista Karl Lagerfeld, the current art director of the House of Chanel, will be overseeing the films costuming, which is set to include re-creations of renowned Chanel originals.

Production is set to begin September 15 in France.
