Jack Black is poised to hit the books again and teach kids the importance of having a good guitar solo face as Paramount is developing a sequel to the hit comedy School of Rock, reports 'Variety'.

Black is attached to reprise the roll of Dewey Finn, the slacking, wannabe rock star who posed as a teacher to make money and ended up turning uptight students into first-rate rock stars.

Mike White, who wrote the 2003 original as well as notable Black vehicles Orange County and Nacho Libre, will pen School of Rock 2: America Rocks. The second amped-up installment will follow the lively, cherubic Finn as he takes summer school kids on a cross-country trip that explores the history of popular music genres.

With Richard Linklater back in the director's chair, the sequel reunites what turned into a winning trio, with the original film going on to gross US$131 million worldwide.

Black will next be seen in Ben Stiller's outrageous ensemble comedy Tropic Thunder, opening August 13.
