Kenny Hotz is stepping out without his long-suffering partner in crime as the show he created, "Testees", has been picked up by FX Networks, reports 'Variety'.

Hotz will be familiar to viewers as the hirsute, under-handed half of "Kenny vs. Spenny" from the long-running show where the two friends engage in friendly competitions until a loser is declared and undergoes a fitting, and often disgusting, humiliation. Hotz has long worked behind the scenes in various capacities and most recently served as writer/consultant for "South Park" and completed his second award-winning documentary film.

His latest project, "Testees", will star Canadians Steve Markle and Jeff Kassel as two roommates in their 30s who work as test guinea pigs for a somewhat questionable product testing facility. It follows the inevitable side effects their day jobs wreak on their health and social lives in, one would expect, typical, twisted Kenny fashion.

"Testees" premieres after "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" on FX in the U.S. and Showtime in Canada, beginning October 9.
