Move over Michelle Pfeiffer. The internet is positively abuzz with heated chatter that Miss “I Got You Babe” is set to star as Catwoman in Christopher Nolan's next Batman installment, as reported in The Daily Mirror.

The 62-year-old singer/actress has starred in numerous films over her lengthy career, including memorable parts in The Witches of Eastwick, Mermaids and her star turn in Moonstruck, which netted her the 1987 Best Actress Oscar. Catwoman would mark her first feature film role since 2003’s poorly-received Stuck On You.

An unnamed source is quoted as saying that "Cher is (Nolan's) first choice to play Catwoman. He wants her to portray her like a vamp in her twilight years. The new Catwoman will be the absolute opposite of Michelle Pfeiffer and Halle Berry's purring creations."

Another casting coup swirling around Nolan's anticipated Dark Knight follow-up has Johnny Depp taking on Jim Carrey's manic portrayal of that laugh-a-minute villain, The Riddler.

Cher and Johnny Depp in the same movie—the competition for wackiest costume just got interesting.

Meow, indeed.
