Bruce McDonald’s Pontypool now has a home.

A report in ‘Variety’ says that the horror film about an unstoppable deadly virus has been picked up by Maple Pictures, the Canadian company that made its mark originally by backing the Saw franchise of films.

The film is based on the 1998 novel "Pontypool Changes Everything" and is the first Canadian feature film to be shot with the Red One 4K HD camera.

Pontypool is slated to screen at the Toronto International Film Festival in September as part of the Vanguard series which spotlights unusual and unique filmmakers. Dabbling in television here and there, McDonald is known in Canada for his irreverent hits Hard Core Logo, Road Kill, Highway 61 and Dance Me Outside.
