This is a decent action thriller. It's best to read the book AFTER seeing the movie or just don't compare the two. As for comparing it to The Da Vinci Code; Angels & Demons is more edge of your seat action and excitement. We left the theatre sastisfied, but that's where it ended. Da Vince Code was more interesting and left us with more to think about and discuss afterwards.
I know this movie is billed as a horror, but some of the scenes are so ridiculous that somebody must have been trying to make a comedy out of it. Where have you ever seen an anvil other than a cartoon? and you have to laugh at the "special effects?" at the seance. It's not worth paying for, but it's almost worth watching when it gets to tv, just for the fun of it all. Other than a couple of good startles don't expect to be frightened.
My husband heard great things about this movie from all his friends so we went to see it against my better judgement. Besides, I owed him one after "Drag Me to Hell". Well as expected I found "The Hangover" to be stupid and boring. I think I laughed twice. I didn't hear him laughing a lot but he claims to have enjoyed it. Maybe it's a guy thing.
I'm not a Nicolas Cage fan but I enjoyed this movie. The story was very original and it kept my interest from start to finish. Definitely worth seeing.
