Awful! That's just what the movie is. Just plain awful. It just proves that Sam Raimi got lucky with the Spiderman trilogy. He did a horrible job directing this movie. It wasn't scary- it wasn't funny - it wasn't gripping. It was just NOTHING. I don't understand why Hollywood is unable to come up with a good scary movie. It's been ages. Come on guys- the horror flick die hard fans are thirsting for an adrenaline rush!!
This movie was hillarious!! Sandra Bullock proves that she is the queen of romantic comedies in Hollywood. No one can pull off what she does.. The chemistry between Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock is unbelievalbe (even though it did not look it in the promos!). The dialogues are hillarious and Bullock looks her absolute best!!
P.S. Does anyone else feel that Sandra Bullock and Jennifer Aniston actually have similar acting antics (cuz in some scenes I could swear that Sandra's character could have been replaced by Rachel Green from Friends)
So is it just me or are the Harry Potter movies just getting worse by the sequel.
Ok first of all what is the title of the movie...come on...sat it with me...Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince....and how many times do we actually hear about the Half Blood Prince -once. What is the story behind the Half Blood Prince - god only knows
Second of all, the romance (if I can call it that)between Giny and Harry is so pointless. As a matter of fact whatever is brewing between Hermione and Ron seems far more believable.
Third, the plot...what plot. How has this part moved us any farther ahead in the Harry Potter storyline other than telling us how Voldemort has preserved his soul and ofcourse that Harry now is no longer blanketed by Dumbledore's security.
Fourth (and the most common complaint I hear from the avid HP book readers)- why is the movie so different from the book. Why are some parts which should be so much more maganimousl portrayed (like Dumbeldore's death or the revelation of the Half Blood Prince) are sidelined while ridiculous scenes (like Giny tying Harry's shoelaces) seem to tbe the highlight. Even Malfoy's character, who seems to be going through an important transition, seems to have been pushed to the side.
Overall, the movie is a disappointment. I did not like the fifth part either, but after watching this one, I went back to see the Order of the Phoenix and actually liked it.
I only have one request. PLEASE DO NOT BRING BACK DAVID YATES FOR THE LAST TWO INSTALLMENTS- he clearly can't direct!
All I can say is that it was a waste of three hours. (But then again I have a bias against Akshay, who I think is one of the worst actors Bollywood has seen). I agree- it is supposed to be a mindless movie about absolutely nothing and you are supposed to just 'relax and enjoy'- but how do you do that when a movie tries to be serious in some parts and tries to pull of slapstick comedy in others (and fail to do it successfully if I may add). Some dialogoues truly are hillarious, and the cinematography in some of the scenes are breathtaking, and thankfully Nikhil Advani does not overdo stereotyping the Chinese culture (which was a huge relief), but on a whole a movie to stay away from!!! (unless you are a hardcore Akshay Kumar fan)
