What a good movie for Mel Gibson to get back into after a seven year absence from the big screen. I can into this movie knowing that it was was reviewed but was pleasantly surprised at just how good this movie actaully was. Good story line, very well acted, suspenseful, all the right ingredients. I can only hope that Mel Gibson's demons are behind him and that he has truely found his way back into the spotlight. He certainly deserves it with this performance!
I went into this moving having hear reviews that were negative so I was prepared. Not sure what movie some of the positive reviewers on this website were watching, but this movie was just terrible. I have been a fan of Robert Downey Jr for many years and he gives a talented performance here again, but he was working with a pathetic storyline and script. Even his skills could not save this movie from a pathetic plot. I really could care less if he was going to solve the crimes in this film and I, along with several movie goers in the audience, had great difficulty not checking the time every 15 minutes or so, hoping that the movie was almost over. Skip it! If you are really curiuos and don't mind wasting $6.00, rent it when it comes out in a few months.
I'm sure I've seen this movie before. A few couples with issues go on a vacation to discover themselves and rekindle lost love. Recycled comedy doesn't work all the time.
Very good movie about a husband/father (Gerard Butler) who experiences injustice at the hands of a up and coming prosecutor played well by Jamie Foxx after the brutal slaying of his family. The biggest problem I have with the film is not that Butler's character seeks revenge but that he goes too far. Overkill, so to speak. I stopped feeling sorry for him 1/2 way in.
